Meet the Eron Family
Never in our wildest dreams did we even imagine owning a wedding barn. In 2012, Eron's Event Barn LLC was purchased with the intent of growing cash crops with the possibility using the barn to raise heifers. Several years passed and we had only used the barn once as a shelter for a team of horses.
In 2015, a local farming committee asked if we would host a field day, and if we had a shelter available. We agreed to host the event and then constructed a stairway to access the upper level of our barn. This encouraged us to finish renovating the barn to hold weddings and other events. In April 2016, we held our first wedding reception in and have been fortunate to expand our family-owned business ever since. To learn more about the way we farm our land and how the barn venue began, here is a video. During our 2021 season we hit another milestone and held our 100th wedding.
We enjoy being a part of the wedding planning process: from the first tour of showing a prospective couple the property and then working with them to plan their dream wedding. Our wedding rental runs Friday through Sunday which allows for our couples to focus on the small details and enjoy their big day. We like to be upfront from the beginning on our offerings so there are never any surprises. We want to ensure our venue is the best venue for their wedding vision. For many couples, their wedding day is something they have dreamed about most of their life, but it also can be very stressful. To help alleviate stress we offer (in person, zoom, phone or email) communications throughout the entire wedding process. Every wedding is a unique experience and we are happy to continue adding couples to our wedding family.
In addition to owning Eron's Event Barn, LLC, we crop farm and custom harvest alfalfa and corn silage for other farms in the area. We are excited to share our passion for agriculture through our native plant gardens, conservation practices and hosting youth field trips for our conservation classroom in partnership with the Farmers of Millcreek Watershed. We are one of the rare wedding barns that still practices farming. Our goal is to connect people to agriculture. In 2020, we were honored to receive the Wisconsin Leopold Conservation Award. We also received the 2021 Entrepreneur of the Year Award through the Portage County Business Council. We are grateful to live in the Stevens Point community.
God has blessed us with two beautiful children who always make our days brighter - you might see them helping with setup or enjoying a leftover dessert on Sunday during clean-up.
~John & Melissa Eron
"John & Melissa are amazing people to work with. I was very adamant about keeping our original date that I had planned for over 2.5 years, even in the world we have today. Melissa helped so much with her amazing communication through the process all the way up to our wedding. John made sure that we had a backup plan if the rain decided to start in, but it held off and I am so lucky I was able to have the ceremony outside. The barn is such a wonderful place to get married & so beautiful inside and outside! Brandon and I could not have asked for a more wonderful day to celebrate our marriage. We cannot thank Melissa and John enough for all the hard work they do & did to help us. You guys are the absolute best."
