Meet the Eron Family

Eron-22.jpg

Never in our wildest dreams did we even imagine owning a wedding barn. In 2012, Eron's Event Barn LLC was purchased with the intent of growing corn and soybeans on the farmland. Several years passed and we had only used the barn once as a shelter for a team of horses.

In 2015, a local farming committee asked if we would host a field day, and if we had a building available. We agreed to host the event and then constructed a stairway to access the upper level of our barn. As word got out that we had such a large space, the wedding inquires started. In April 2016, we held our first wedding reception and have been fortunate to expand our family-owned business ever since. To learn more about the way we farm our land and how the barn venue began, here is a video. Our 2023 season hit another milestone of hosting our 150th wedding!

We enjoy being a part of the wedding planning process: from the first tour of showing a prospective couple the property and then working as their wedding planner to create their dream wedding. Our wedding rental runs Friday through Sunday which allows our couples to focus on the small details and enjoy their big day. For many couples, their wedding day is something they have dreamed about most of their life, but it also can be very stressful. To help alleviate stress we stay in close contact through the planning process help with set-up and are present during rehearsal (and sometimes leading practice), the ceremony and reception. Every wedding is a unique experience and we enjoy adding couples to our wedding family.

In addition to owning Eron's Event Barn, LLC, we crop farm and custom harvest alfalfa and corn silage for other farms in the area. We are excited to share our passion for agriculture through our native prairie gardens, conservation practices and hosting youth field trips for our conservation classroom in partnership with the Farmers of Millcreek Watershed. We are one of the rare wedding barns that still practices farming. Our goal is to connect people to agriculture. In 2020, we were honored to receive the Wisconsin Leopold Conservation Award. We also received the 2021 Entrepreneur of the Year Award through the Portage County Business Council. We are grateful to live in the Stevens Point community.

God has blessed us with two beautiful children who always make our days brighter - you might see them helping with setup or enjoying a leftover dessert on Sunday during clean-up.

~John & Melissa

Melissa and John were amazing to work with and always quick to reply. They were so helpful with recommending good vendors, they helped us set up and keep things organized and flowing well the day of. They’re very knowledgeable about the industry and even ran our rehearsal. John even ran downstairs to grab my bouquet right before I walked down the aisle. The bartenders were super nice and there was never a line at the bar. We highly recommend using them for any event. The barn is beautiful and the amenities that came with it were perfect. There are so many different places to take pictures on the property as well.
