Meet the Eron Family

We had our wedding reception in my (Melissa's) parents barn. Never in our wildest dreams did we even imagine owning a wedding barn. This farm was purchased seven years ago with intent of growing cash crops and possibly using the barn to raise heifers. Several years passed and we had used the barn only once as shelter for a team of horses that were used in a select cutting of our woods. In 2015 a local farming committee asked if we would host a field day, and if we had a shelter available. We agreed to host the event and then constructed a stairway to access the upper level of our barn. This encouraged us to finish renovating the barn to hold weddings and other events. We had our first wedding reception in April, 2016 and are fortunate to expand our small business since. To learn more about the way we farm our land and how the barn venue began, here is a video. With the 2021 season, we will officially hit the 100 wedding mark.

We enjoy being a part of the wedding planning process: from the first tour of showing a prospective couple the property and then working with them to plan their dream wedding. Being the rental is Friday - Sunday, we find that things are much more relaxed and you can really focus on the small details. We like to be upfront from the beginning on our offerings so there are never any surprises. We also want to make sure our venue is the best venue for your wedding vision. For many couples, their wedding day is something they have dreamed about most of their life, but it also can be very stressful. Through many hours of meetings (via in person, over the phone or zoom), and emails we are involved as much as you like. Every wedding is a unique experience and we are happy to continue adding couples to our wedding family.

In addition to owning Eron's Event Barn, LLC, we crop farm and custom harvest alfalfa and corn silage for other farms in the area. We are excited to share our passion for agriculture through our native plant gardens, conservation practices and hosting youth field trips for our conservation classroom. We are are one of the very few wedding barns that is also an farm. Our goal is to connect people to agriculture. This year we were honored to receive the Wisconsin Leopold Conservation Award. This year we were honored to receive the 2021 Entrepreneur of the Year Award through the Portage County Business Council. We are grateful to live in with the Stevens Point community nearby.God has blessed us with two children who always make our days brighter - they might be helping with setup or enjoying a leftover dessert on Sunday during clean-up. This year we were honored to receive the 2021 Entrepreneur of the Year Award through the Portage County Business Council. We are grateful to live in with the Stevens Point community nearby.

While managing the barn, farming and family life is hectic, we are grateful, thankful and truly blessed!

John & Melissa are amazing people to work with. I was very admit about keeping our original date that I had planned for over 2.5 years ago, even in the world we have today. Melissa helped so much with her amazing communication through the process all the way up to our wedding. John also made sure that we had a backup plan if the rain decided to start in, but it held off and I am so lucky I was able to have the ceremony outside. The barn is such a wonderful place to get married & so beautiful inside and outside! Brandon and I could not have asked for a more wonderful day to celebrate our marriage. We cannot thank Melissa and John enough for all the hard work they do & did to help us. You guys are the absolute best. ~ Jordyn, Bride
