The Most Popular Season - Fall

As the leaves turn and a crispness fills the air, I’m reminded why fall is such a special season at Eron’s Event Barn. Since we began hosting weddings in 2016, September and October have been our most popular months. Our busy season now extends into November, allowing couples to enjoy the final days of fall season. There’s a unique magic in the golden sunlight, vibrant colors, and cozy atmosphere that fills our farm each autumn. Peak fall colors usually arrive in early October, creating a stunning natural backdrop for celebrations. From the warmth of seasonal décor to the joy of gathering with loved ones, it’s easy to see why so many couples choose to celebrate with us in the fall.

There are many reasons why fall has become so popular:

  • Cooler weather: The heat and humidity can be a drawback of summer weddings. Fall tends to be more comfortable, especially if you’re planning to have part of your wedding outdoors.

  • Decor: Decorating with mums and pumpkins is an easy way to dress up the venue.

  • Colors: Terracotta and maroon are the most popular colors for the season. We see these colors year-round, but even more so in the fall.

  • Outdoor beauty: The abundance of trees at our venue provides the perfect backdrop for gorgeous wedding photos, especially when the leaves change color.

  • Seasonal food and drinks: Guests will rave about an Apple Cider Moscow Mule as a signature drink, pumpkin bars for dessert, or tomato bisque soup and grilled cheese as an appetizer or late-night snack.

  • Fewer conflicts: Summer can be busy with sports and family vacations, so having a fall wedding means more guests can attend. Be sure to send out Save the Dates so those traveling from farther away can take time off school or work if needed.

Tips for planning a fall wedding:

  • Book early: If you’re set on having a fall wedding, be sure to book your date as soon as possible before the dates are no longer available. We have bookings for fall weddings up to 2.5 years in advance. Already have your fall venue booked? Secure your vendors (caterer, DJ, photographer) right away, as they also book up fast.

  • Dress for the weather: This is very important for both the bridal party and your guests. Post on your wedding website and invitations if you’re planning an outdoor ceremony so guests can be prepared. Plan to have a shawl for each of your bridesmaids (and perhaps the bride as well) for the ceremony and/or outdoor photos. Provide some cozy blankets that guests can use during the ceremony.

  • Can’t get a fall date? Consider the end of August instead. Like this year, the end of August turned out to be much cooler than the end of September. Fall decor, like pumpkins and mums, are available in stores mid-August, so you can still use them for decorations.

Final Thoughts

While many couples choose to have a fall wedding, be aware that it could also turn into a winter wedding. Certainly! We’ve even had a few fall weddings where a light snowfall dusted the ground, but fortunately, it melted away quickly. Have a "Plan B" if you’re planning an outdoor ceremony and the weather does not cooperate. At the end of the day, you will still get married, so all the extra details are just a bonus.

No matter how you choose to celebrate, a fall wedding at Eron’s Event Barn is sure to be filled with warmth, beauty, and unforgettable moments. While the season brings its own unique charm—and maybe a few surprises with the weather—it’s always a joy to see couples embrace everything autumn has to offer. At the end of the day, it’s the love and laughter shared with family and friends that make your wedding truly special. We feel honored to be a part of these cherished memories and look forward to welcoming many more couples to experience the magic of fall with us.
